Garfield Heights 3-Star Guard Frankie Hughes Officially Signs With Louisville Basketball
Frankie Hughes has officially signed to play for basketball for Coach Patino.
The 6’4 scoring guard was a late arrival on Louisville’s recruiting radar, but quickly fell in love with U of L. He wound up choosing the Cards over Wisconsin, St. Joseph’s and VCU.
Hughes, who attends the same high school as former Cardinal Terry Rozier, averaged nearly 15 points per game during Garfield Heights’ run to the Division-I state semifinals last season. He is advertised as a talented outside scorer who will become a versatile offensive threat once he adds a bit of muscle to his frame.
My favorite thing about Hughes’ signing is that a family member actually tweeted out a picture of him signing his LOI yesterday. Of course Louisville could not accept that letter until Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period.
Frankie Hughes, the young man who committed to Louisville in the middle of one of the lowest days in the program’s history, and who couldn’t wait until national signing day to ink his letter of intent.
