Louisville Basketball Offer Comes To Garfield Heights Freshman Demetrius ‘Meechie’ Johnson Jr.

His father and two uncles both went on to play Division I college basketball.

Demetrius “Meechie” Johnson Jr. already has some bragging rights. And he has yet to play a high school game.

That’s because Louisville coach Rick Pitino offered him a scholarship Monday during a visit to the school. Pitino came to an open gym to watch 6-foot-8 junior forwards Brison Waller and Alonzo Gaffney, who already has an offer from the Cardinals.
