Marshon Lattimore Joins List Of Glenville High Football Players Drafted To NFL

One of the best-known Tarblooders currently in the NFL is Cardale Jones, yet he played in only one game last year for the Buffalo Bills, completing six passes on eleven attempts.

After injuries to Ohio State’s two starting quarterbacks, Jones was pressed into duty in 2014, leading the team to a national championship victory over the University of Oregon. The win highlighted an improbable feel-good story involving Jones, who had once been on the outs with Buckeye Coach Urban Meyer.

Jones is one of several Glenville High grads who went on to play at Ohio State before entering the NFL.

Carolina Panthers wide receiver Ted Ginn had 54 catches for 752 yards for the Carolina Panthers last year. He is now with the New Orleans Saints, having signed a 3-year, $11 million contract in March.

Ginn has always been known for his speed. After graduating from Glenville High School in 2004, where he excelled on offense and defense and also ran track, he took his after-burners to Ohio State where he played for coach Jim Tressel. Ginn was drafted in the first round of the 2007 NFL draft by the Miami Dolphins.

Donte Whitner played in eleven games, starting nine, for the Washington Redskins last year. He is currently a free agent. The Buffalo Bills selected Whitner with the eighth overall pick in the 2006 draft, making Whitner the highest draft pick to come out of Glenville.

Safety Christian Bryant, who graduated from Glenville in 2010, played in three games for the Arizona Cardinals last year and recorded three tackles.
